Jenny from Reunion, FL, asks Jenny:
“I have heard that Disney wanted to keep the Magic Kingdom as family friendly as possible. In doing this he didn't want alcohol sold there. Is it true
that the Magic Kingdom is the only park on Disney property that doesn't sell it?”
It is believed that Walt wanted to keep his park family friendly so alcohol was not sold to the public at Disneyland. This continued with
the opening of the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. It should be noted that Club 33, the member’s-only club designed by Walt in the
New Orleans Square section of Disneyland has always served alcohol behind closed doors. Disneyland and Walt Disney World’s Magic
Kingdom do have park-wide liquor licenses and have set up bars throughout the park for private events.

Rachel from Baltimore, MD asks
"My husband and I booked our stay at Fort Wilderness Campgrounds at Walt Disney World for March. We ended up getting a deal – 4 extra days in
the cabin with park passes for free, so we are staying for a whole week. We are trying to decide about renting a golf cart, bikes, etc. The golf cart is
$59 per day so we are hesitating…we were wondering what you think about it. Thanks for the Disney consult…"
Rachel:
I believe that renting a golf cart or not depends on a couple of issues:
1st is the way you plan on spending your time while at Fort Wilderness. The more time you plan on being in the Fort Wilderness area
and taking advantage of things offered there, the more you would use the golf cart. Also if you have children with you during your
stay, all kids love riding in a golf cart. It is also a great way to get a sleepy child back to the camp site after a late night at one of
the Disney parks.
2nd is how close your camp site is to one of the bus stops that take you around the Campgrounds. The bus takes you around the
camp site and also connects to the rest of Walt Disney World transportation system. If your camp site is close to a bus stop and you
plan on spending little time in the Campgrounds, then the golf cart may add some unneeded cost to your week at Walt Disney World.
When making your reservations make sure you ask for a site as close as possible to the bus stop; it will not be guaranteed but Disney
always tries to meet guest requests.
I enjoy the convenience of renting from Disney, but if you want to save a few dollars, check the web. There are several companies
that rent carts that can be dropped off and picked up at the Fort Wilderness Campgrounds.
